The sea level is rising. However, from what I could find on-line, it has risen only 8 to 9 inches over the last ~150 years. At this rate, Miami will be completely under water in ~1500 years. And it will take ~4500 years for all of New Orleans (including the French Quarter) to be submerged. Stated another way, the sea level is rising at ~0.06 inches/year. And since the lifespan of the average American is 77 years, the sea level will rise by ~4 & a half inches over your lifespan.
