Excessive daytime sleepiness can be a symptom of OSA. A sleep disorder caused by blockage of the upper airway may result in a disruptive sleep pattern. This may result in excessive daytime sleepiness. Psychiatric conditions like depression may also cause excessive daytime sleepiness. Other sleep disorders such as circadian disorder, periodic limb movement disorder, and restless legs syndrome can also contribute to daytime sleepiness.
