  • The new Fender Acoustasonic line. Looks like Guitar Center has a lot of used Fender Acoustasonic guitars for sale. Could mean they suck.

So if you get one. Well. Just don't tell me.

  • I really wanted an acoustic archtop. At the time, all other new archtops were over 6-hundo's. However I noticed Ebay had many vintage Harmony and Kay acoustic archtops that were cheaper.

Here's a before and after pic of my 1930-something Harmony Monterey Leader.

It was my very first acoustic archtop guitar (and guitar project), purchased damaged, as-is, from Ebay in 2016 for around $70 bucks if I remember correctly.

Had to strip away the original finish. Splint the damaged front and back panels with Gorilla Wood glue. Sand everything.

The cherry and amber paint was sprayed first. The black lines were next, airbrushed and some made by my fingers while the paint was wet.

The sunburst was made using a paper plate as a fade shielding for the black paint.

All paint were aerosols from Stew Mac.
