BREAKING: The Supreme Court voted 6-3 to restore the Trump administration’s revamped SAVE citizenship verification database, allowing states to check registered voters against federal records including Social Security numbers.


The ruling lifts a lower-court block and lets officials identify and remove non-citizens from voter rolls ahead of the 2026 midterms. Justices Jackson, Sotomayor, and Kagan dissented.


The modified SAVE system, originally used to verify immigration status for benefits, now gives state and local election officials a faster way to confirm citizenship
