It has been said that the Democrats get the majority of the Jewish vote because American Jews view the Republicans as America's version of the Nazi Party. But this assumption does not stand up to the historical record. The Democrats have received the majority of the Jewish vote since before Hitler came to power in 1933; since before the National Socialist German Workers' Party was formed in 1920.
FDR got ~85% of the Jewish vote in 1932
Smith got ~70% of the Jewish vote in 1928
Davis the Democrat got ~50% & LaFollette the Socialist got ~20% of the Jewish vote in 1924
Cox the Democrat got ~20% & Debs the Socialist got ~40% of the Jewish vote in 1920
