In 2004, a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology reported that: A) the life expectancy of prostitutes was <35 years; B) their career in the sex industry would last about 7 years; & C) nearly 1/5th of all prostitutes eventually wind up being murdered. And experience has shown that, while not all drug addicts are prostitutes, ~80% of prostitutes are drug addicts.
