As per an anti-pornography organization called the Pink Cross, the average life expectancy of porn actors & actresses is <40 years. This conclusion comes from reviewing ~12 hundred obituaries of porn stars over a 20 year period. There are a variety of reasons cited for this lessening of life expectancy, including a suicide rate of ~6 times that of the general public, along with the usual codependencies of alcoholism & drug addiction. Involvement in performing for adult entertainment usually does not last beyond 4 to 6 years; & then this is limited to only the ~50% who last that long. Most of those who do become involved in performing in pornographic films do so between the ages of 22 to 24. And almost all of them do so for financial reasons.
