Eating lunch today with my husband at Mission BBQ after an eye doctor appointment in Wilmington, NC and heard an explosion. Not knowing if it was a car that ran into the building or what, I looked out the window and saw a black cloud of smoke and debris flying through the air about 1/2 mile away near Bob King car dealership. According to the Wilmington Fire Department, it happened at East Carolina Veterinary Medical Center. The center was scheduled to open in September after moving from its former location on Greenville Avenue. Three firefighters were injured, one with severe burns on his hands.
