While alcoholism occurs within 5% to 10% of the heterosexual population, it has been estimated that between 25% & 33% of homosexuals are alcoholics.

While ~20% of heterosexuals use recreational drugs, & ~5% could be considered drug addicts, the numbers increase (double) to ~40% of homosexuals who are recreational drug users & ~10% who are drug addicts.

Gaydar is real. When simply shown facial photographs, people could identify homosexuals ~75% of the time. Further analysis of the pictures showed that gay men tend to have higher foreheads & slimmer jaw lines than straight men. Lesbians tend to have lower foreheads & heavier jaw lines than straight women. These 2 facial features, which correspond to perceived masculine & feminine traits, are hormonally influenced during puberty.

In Mao’s China, homosexuals were deemed to be undesirable, & homosexuality was described as disgraceful. Back the in 17th & 18th century, during the days of the Qing dynasty, an anti-homosexual decree was issued, which made voluntarily homosexual intercourse between adults illegal. The punishment for its violation included a month in prison & 100 heavy blows with a bamboo cane.

In 1934, Article 121 was added to the criminal code for the entire Soviet Union which expressly prohibited homosexuality, with up to 5 years of hard labor in prison for those convicted of such an offense. During the Soviet era, it is believed that upwards of a thousand men were imprisoned each year under Article 121. Its aim was to eradicate the old ruling classes by linking homosexuality to an effeminate Tsarist aristocracy. To put it bluntly, homosexuality was considered to be inconsistent with communist morality.

Karl Marx considered homosexuality to be an unnatural vice of the hedonistic bourgeoisie. And his philosophical partner, Freidrich Engels, who was contemptuous of homosexuals in general, wanted them excluded from membership in the communist party.

In 1533, during the reign of King Henry VIII, Parliament made homosexual acts illegal. This law remained on the books until 1861, although the last execution carried out under its provisions occurred in 1835.

For their part, Muslims like to throw homosexuals off the roofs of tall buildings. This practice is justified in various places in the Koran & Hadiths. Sharia legal codes equate homosexual acts to adultery. Therefore the punishment is usually the same; death by stoning, or at least death somehow or other.

This is Gaetan Dugas, aka Patient Zero, the French Canadian flight attendant who was credited by the AMA with bringing HIV from Africa to North America. Gaetan estimated that he had sex with upwards of 250 different men in Africa or North America, each & every year, for the ~10 years that he worked for Canadian Airlines. Dugas died in 1984, at the age of 32, from kidney failure secondary to AIDS related infections. And even if Gaetan Dugas was not Patient Zero, there was a plethora of other homosexual men who could have easily taken his place. Estimates at the time were that more than 1/5th of all gay men had engaged in anal sex with over 500 other gay men.

As far as Domestic Violence goes, ~1/4th of men report being on the receiving end of Domestic Violence. This is consistent regardless of being Straight or Gay. Homosexual women, on the other hand, report being on the receiving end of Domestic Violence at twice the rate of heterosexual women, with a reported rate of ~2/3rd’s versus ~1/3rd respectively. In a related area, Gay men who marry get divorced at roughly the same rate as Straight couples, which is ~50%. However, Lesbians who marry divorce at a rate approaching 75%.

No discussion of homosexuality would be complete without addressing the issue of child molestation. Once again, ~5% of the general population is homosexual. But homosexuals account for ~25% of child molesters. This might be because many homosexuals report feeling more comfortable around children in general than adults. This may also be because ~35% of homosexuals report being molested themselves when they were children, as compared to ~5% of heterosexual males & ~15% of heterosexual females.
