Who ultimately decides how the executive branch works? Is it the president, elected by the American people, or career federal employees and the unions that represent them?

The American Federation of Government Employees, the largest union representing federal employees, sued the White House’s Office of Personnel Management last month, aiming to block new rules governing how federal employees are evaluated, disciplined, and removed.

The lawsuit represents only the latest in a long series of legal challenges the union has brought against President Donald Trump’s administration since January 2025. According to a July roundup AFGE posted on its website, the union had filed 18 lawsuits against the administration before the latest case.

She wanted to air President Trump’s declassified intel on China’s alleged 2020 election interference — CIA, NSA, and FBI material showing Beijing grabbed tens of millions of U.S. voter files.

A Fox Business exec texted producers the story “could not go to air.” Reason? Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits.

Declassified intel is not a conspiracy you bury because lawyers are still circling. Maria wanted it on air. Fox said no.

When the White House asked why they were sitting on it, she told the truth and forwarded the internal order. Multiple sources say that’s what ended 12½ years.

Fox’s official line: “business decision.” Of course it is.

They already paid Dominion $787 million. Smartmatic is still out there. So the network that sold itself as the alternative decided protecting the lawsuit file mattered more than putting the story in front of the American people.

  • How the Transgender Movement Lost the Power to End Debate
    https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/08/23/how-transgender-movement-lost-power-end-debate/?_bhlid=34b9c4725ec462487343518d5c1e79d96b585d8b

Transgender activists once used maximalist legal arguments to force their worldview on American society, but now they’re arguing defensively.

Activists are accusing the government of trying to silence them and take away their health care benefits. To some degree, this strategy represents a legal response to President Donald Trump’s reelection, but it also reveals an important cultural development.

“The social and cultural permission gatekeepers on the Left have sort of lost the battle on whether or not you can speak out on these issues and have a different opinion than the Left and continue to function in civil society,” Hiram Sasser, executive general counsel for First Liberty Institute, tells the Daily Signal.

  • Supreme Court Backs Trump Election Integrity Order in Mail Ballot Fight
    https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/08/24/supreme-court-backs-trump-election-integrity-order-in-mail-ballot-fight/

The Supreme Court on Monday sided with President Donald Trump in a mail-in ballot case stemming from his election integrity executive order.

The case is not over, but the high court allowed the federal government to continue implementing the election integrity policies while the case is on appeal.

The justices decided in a 6-3 shadow docket ruling to stay a district court ruling that blocked Trump’s executive order on election integrity and held that the states challenging the order lacked standing.

Democrat officials in 23 states and the District of Columbia, led by California Attorney General Rob Bonta, sued to block Trump’s March executive order, which, among other things, created a list of eligible voters. The executive order required the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail ballots only to people on those lists.
