Communism is totalitarian in the same manner as Secularism is hedonistic. However, it may not be an either or situation. It could be a combination of carrots & sticks. One offers humanity enslavement to the state via pain & fear. The other offers humanity enslavement to the state via the pleasures of & dependency upon food stamps, public housing projects, Medicaid coverage, & direct welfare payments.
