By 1995, NAMBLA, which had bases in New York & San Francisco, grew to ~11 hundred members. Prior to the Stonewall riots in 1969, Thorstad was a writer for the Socialist Workers’ Party. Afterwards, David dedicated himself to gay activism by becoming the president of the Gay Activist Alliance. In 2000 he was named as a codefendant in a civil suit in the death of 10 y/o Jeffery Curley, who was sodomized & murdered by 2 NAMBLA members in Boston in 1997. NAMBLA has been more or less defunct since 2016. And DT died in 2021 at the age of 79.
