It has been said by some that the post-Christian age began in earnest with the end of the 1st World War in 1918. Communism & Fascism & Secularism vied to replace Christianity in Western culture. Fascism (national socialism) was defeated during the 2nd World War. But what we are faced with now is a competition between Communism (international socialism) & Secularism. In a sense, we are faced with a choice between Orwell's 1984 & Huxley's Brave New World.
